Tonight is the quiet before the start of a storm that is about to engulf our home. An extension building is going up here in the back right corner of our home. The head carpenter has been here off and on for about a week taking measurements and making the last corrections on the list of materials he will needtoget started in two weeks. The start of the tear outof ourgarage is supposed to begin tomorrow. The waste material will need a place to go until it is accumulated for pick up in the midi skip hire.That midi skip hire is my only glitch and worry tonight.
The midi skip hire is the only problem I am worried about. I have called them three times today and got absolutely no answer and no call back from my voice mail messages. I just hope it is a problem with the phone lines and they will come through in the morning with the delivery of the midi skip hire we ordered.
Not hearing from anyone from the company is a bit unsettling. I just don't want a whole lot of time delay in getting this project completed. We think we gave ourselves plenty of time to get this project completed by the start of the holiday season.
My alarm clock is going off and seconds later I hear the large truck dropping off what I expected was going to be delivered this morning. With this little piece of news my morning is going to be less anxious. Today is the beginning of the tear down of our free standing garage. This shouldn't take long, and I am looking forward to getting off work today and coming home to a big chunk of the garage gone.
Around 11 AM the carpenter called leaving a message that he has all of the materials ready to start and has free time available to start early on the extension project if the start up of the extension is moved forward. More good news is always welcome.
Getting home this afternoon a little early I hope to find out from the demolition crew how the tear down is coming along. I might have an answer to the carpenter's inquiry by the end of the week. That would be a nice bit of news to send out to my husband who is out of the country for another month. He might come home to a finished garage and workshop. That would be a great Christmas present for him.
