The first thing that I do when starting a project is to look for the cheapest way to an end. I need the cheapest skip hire for the refurbishment projects that I have lined up. Some one's whose waste management skills are better than mine. And if I can luck-up and hook-up with a company with mortar connections I will be a happy camper. I know that filling in the gaps between some of the bricks on the outside of the house will save on heating and cooling bills. The cheapest skip hire quote that I got was $500.00 but I still don't know how to order the right size or if the size that they quoted the price from is what I need. Although my husband let me be in charge of this, I really don't know what I am doing. Besides I never wanted to be liberated anyway.

If this was a recycle the old and buy some new clothes project then I would be the girl to ask. I pretend that I know a little something about home improvement only to make my husband think that I really know what I am doing so that we will have more things in common. What I really do is pull out my "You Can Do It" household fix-it book from under the bed, read up on some minor repairs and do the job. My husband is amazed but what he doesn't know is that this project is too big for me. What I have done is to make a list of the cheapest skip hire in the surrounding area that way he will at least have a clue as to who offers the best price and he can set up appointments to speak or meet with them at his leisure. I hope that I don't loose any points with him as his second in command as he sometimes call me.

When hubby came in the house after work the first thing that I did was to plate up his favorite meal, handed him his slippers and gave him a beer. I waited a respectable time after he had finished his meal and was on his second beer. Looking as innocent as I could I told him about my seeking out the cheapest skip hire and the stumbling blocks that came my way.He just laughed,he told me that he knew about the book under the bed and just wanted to see just how far I would go to hide my secret. I'm so lucky.
