Enjoy DIY Today

Our house was getting older and older in style, so when my mum and dad finally decided for a refurbishment, I was really really happy to be finally rid of the old-style furniture, taps which were a bit rusty and peeling paint on walls. We called the house refurbishment company and they sent an experienced carpenter to help us in deciding which parts of the house to upgrade and how much time will all the refurbishment take. Luckily, the carpenter who was the head of the company's architectural department, was our neighbours' friend, so, apart from a hefty discount, we also received professional advice. They began the house refurbishment process by moving us to a hotel where we would stay until the whole refurbishment was done with. We also luckily got a cheap skip hire so we could keep all our important stuff and most of the old stuff too so we can choose the needed things later. Then me and my parents went to their head design office to help design our new home!! We told them about the changes we wanted in our home including moving some walls here and there and changing door positions, window positions etc. Then we decided on all the house extensions we wanted such as a bigger kitchen, a basement and one of the bigger house extensions of adding a backyard and a bigger garage.We then went with the carpenter-architect to B&Q (a HUGE Home Decor Store) to choose new fittings for our bathroom, new doors, windows, doorknobs, tiles, paint colours, a bed and finally came the turn for my room. There was a whole section dedicated to designing rooms for teenagers. I was finally gonna pick my own room! I spent about half an hour to choose a template to work on, let alone design it. Then, I chose my own bed, a work table which could also be used for my computer and lots of other stuff with custom paints and everything to finally get the room i wanted to have. I must say, the B&Q workers WERE a little annoyed after all the time I took :) Then we went back to our hotel to stay there for about a couple of weeks till the company did all the house refurbishment and the house extensions . The stay in the hotel was really enjoyable, it was summer time so I didn't even have to go to school to spoil the hotel enjoyment. We enjoyed the comfy room service and the great view of London for a few days before our home was completely refurbished. Upon entering, everyone was so surprised, we forgot to breathe! The home was completely different from what I remembered. It gave the look of a castle mixed with the modern style! I totally loved it.
